ADD/distracted/fidgety TRPG Player

As the name suggests, this archetype tends to move around a lot and has issues focusing.

Body Language:

This player’s primary distraction point is how fidgety they are.

As Player Archetype Specialist simulating this type, feel free to:

  • Bounce or move around in your seat

  • Fidget with the die or any loose items within arm’s reach

  • Fidget with clothing, hair, or fingers

These players also tend to be easily distracted by the environment, for example:

  • Music or background noise

  • Other players’ movements

  • Bugs, etc. in the room

In essence, if you can be slightly distracted by something, play that up

Player Interactions:

Engage with other players, maybe even excessively so. Try to distract other players through conversation and side-talk. While you can of course engage in game-related dialogue, do try to steer conversation toward side-tracking the game to help train the GM.

GM Interactions:

While you should be easily distracted and can engage in role-playing if you wish, you should re-engage with the game when the GM:

  • Directly addresses you in private (doesn't try to shame in public)

  • Creates intrigue or battle scenarios

Feel free to become more disruptive if the GM:

  • Ignores you
  • Becomes irritable with you specifically
  • Publicly calls you out in front of everyone rather than discretely
