FAQs: How does RPG Research Align with the People Helping People Philosophy?
Ourorganizationis100%volunteer-run,none of us are paid.We provide as much flexibility as possible in scheduling and roles available to volunteers,as well as extensivehigh-valuefreetraining and resources support those excited byour programs whowant tohelp us serve the communitiesthatmostbenefit fromourprograms. This results in our volunteer base being as strongly committed to these communities as possible, while also gaining valuable experience that can strengthen them both personally and professionally.
We have volunteers that have been with the organization for many years because they frequently experience and see the significant impact of our programs. They regularly see the growth and benefit, that our volunteers experience personally, from our training and from their contributing to our programs serving the communities. These volunteers continuously grow and iteratively develop their skills, sharing their training, knowledge, and experience with the other volunteers to keep improving our programs.
We especially go out of our way to provide services to under-served and un-served locations through online services and accessible mobile facilities. This includes, when resources permit, driving out to rural or even very remote locations to provide services in such locations. By reaching out to areas that do not typically receive guided, positive socialization events, we can better help those populations to build collaborative and enjoyable interactions and even encourage beneficial behaviors through repeated, similar events. We have volunteers ranging from adolescents through adults and senior adults. The majority of our staff have physical disabilities or developmental differences, furthering the empathy and connection with the communities we serve.
